The Global Cultural Ambassador of Queen Moremi Ajasoro initiative, Princess Ronke Ademiluyi, while speaking on behalf of the organisers, stated that the whole essence of the rigorous preparation is to show that whoever wears the crown as Queen matches the feat of the heroine in deed, character and charisma.

Toluhi Adedamola, a 300-level English language student at the Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), defeated other 21 finalists. The 19-year-old queen, who was Miss Surulere 2017, broke down in tears of excitement and joy as soon as the result was announced. The model and make-up artist said in her acceptance speech that her first mission would be to work with the motherless homes to care for disabled and needy children. Agara Oluwatoyin, a 25-year-old from Ondo state, came second while Adejuwon Oluwaseyi, a creative fashion designer from Ogun, bagged the third position.
Adeyeye Ogunwusi, Ooni of Ife, said the aim was to promote the Yoruba culture among the youth to prevent it from extinction. The monarch presented a brand new car and N1 million empowerment fund to the winner. He added that the new queen automatically becomes the cultural ambassador to the ooni and would enjoy the privilege of being part of his foreign trips’ entourage. Agbara, the first runner-up, went home with N750,000 cash gift while Oluwaseyi would receive N500,000 cash gift. The monarch added that every other contestant would go home with N200,000 cash gift to compensate them for their efforts. Some of the participants also received various awards.
